Agniveer scheme big changes, Now this work will have to be done at the time of application only

For millions of young people who dream of serving the country, important news has emerged regarding the Agniveer Recruitment 2026. Even before the recruitment process began, the Indian Army has changed a rule that, if ignored, could result in significant losses despite their hard work. This change is especially important for young people applying in the Tradesman category.

Previously, many candidates took minor details lightly when filling out applications, but the Army has made it clear that such negligence will not be tolerated this time. According to the new rule, if a candidate fails to fill in the required options at the time of application, their appointment may be cancelled even after their name appears on the merit list. Therefore, young people preparing for the Agniveer Recruitment need to be even more vigilant than before.

Rules Changed in Tradesman Recruitment

According to a notice issued on the Indian Army’s official website, joinindianarmy.nic.in, candidates applying for Agniveer Tradesman positions will now be required to enter their trade preference at the time of application. Tenth-grade pass candidates can select a maximum of nine trades. Eighth-grade pass candidates will only be able to select two trades. If a candidate does not select a trade at the time of application, they will not be recruited even if their name appears on the merit list. The Army has also clarified that if a candidate does not select a specific trade in their preference and a vacancy in that trade does not become available later, they will be disqualified.

Application Dates and Position Information

Applications for the Agniveer Recruitment 2026 were originally scheduled to begin on February 3, but this date has been removed from the website. The Army has stated that the application process will commence soon. A unique feature of this recruitment is that candidates can apply for two different positions with a single application form. The positions covered include Agniveer GD, Agniveer Technical, Clerk/Storekeeper, Tradesman (8th and 10th Pass), Sainik Pharma, Nursing Assistant, and Women Military Police.

Age Limit and Educational Qualifications

Candidates for Agniveer Recruitment 2026 must be between 17.5 and 21 years of age. Educational qualifications vary by position. In which for Agniveer GD, 10th pass and at least 45 percent marks are required, for technical post, Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English in 12th are required, for Clerk/Storekeeper, 60 percent marks in 12th, along with typing test is required and for Tradesman, 8th or 10th pass is required.

Physical Test and Physical Standards

The recruitment process will also require candidates to undergo a physical test, which includes running, pull-ups, long jumps, and a zig-zag balance test. Running times are set for different groups. Height, chest, and other physical standards are also determined by the position.
